Making it happen

Image of a sound mixing boardSean Maher of Isle Style Productions was the main sound tech on the City Square Stage productions and the occasional Charles Hoey Park concert, playing an indispensable role in the festival’s production.

Also a fantastic photographer, his eye is phenomenal, capturing the essence of the events in each shot. So many of the photos documenting the festival were provided by Sean we absolutely had to mention him and thank him publicly.

We are proud and honoured to have his assistance in the 2011 Duncan Cowichan Summer Festival and can only hope to entice his expertise for our celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Incorporation of the City of Duncan in 2012.

The Story Behind The Pictures

This website and much of the promotional material that is produced to market it is really brought alive by some of the stunning photography that is used.

Much of this is a credit to many people who supplied us with photographs or even volunteered their time to document the Festival.

Sean Maher

A huge number of photographs were provided to us by Sean Maher of Isle Style Productions. As well as operating as a sound tech behind the scenes, Sean’s stunning images have been used across this website and other promotional material to great effect.

Kelly Little

Self portrait of Kelly LittleOne of our most talented volunteer photographers this year was Kelly Little. With a background in Socio-cultural Anthropology, Kelly has an express passion for people, culture and life.

Specializing in Literary Arts and Photography, Kelly recently returned to Canada after an extended stay in the Caribbean where she acquired training as a Documentarian with the BBC’s Sanna Allsop.

A former newspaper reporter, Kelly enjoys free-lance work and is in the process of completing a book.

The Summer Festival was very lucky indeed to have Kelly working to document the Festival with her excellent photography, much of which can be seen on our Flickr stream and indeed on the website itself.

Kelly is a director of the PDCEC project. You can visit their website to learn more.

Work of many

A great many people contributed images and it would be difficult to mention them all – particularly those who provided photographs from previous years which were so striking that we simply had to use them again. Read the full post…
