A Great Weekend!

8 July 2011

This weekend (beginning Saturday, July 9th) promises to be a cracker.

Mitch and the Barroness playing at Charles Hoey Park in Duncan, BC. Great musical entertainment. In addition to the Saturday Farmer’s Market the town’s tattoo artists will be present for a Show and Tell Competition for anyone with ink – this will be ongoing throughout the day from 10am until 4pm.

On the musical front, Vancouver Island duo Mitch and the Barroness (Elissa Barron pictured, right) kick things off at noon on Saturday with their distinctive southern fried blues.

Get a sneak preview of what to expect by checking out some of their music on their MySpace page.

Thor and the Thundercats and JC and the Ray will also be taking to the stage in the afternoon.

Led pony trekking in Charles Hoey Park on Children's Day in Duncan, BC

Sunday is Children’s Day!

The day we’ve all been waiting for, Sunday, July 10th is Children’s Day! Bouncy castles, merry-go-rounds, led pony treks … it’s fantastic fun for the entire family.

Taking place in Charles Hoey Park a snow fence will be erected around the perimeter to make the area as safe as possible for your children.

On Sunday we will also be treated to the Penny the Owl Show (with thanks to Island Savings) and another fantastic performance by Leela the Poi Queen.

There is so much to look forward to you simply can’t afford to miss it. Family friendly, loads of fun stuff for kids, great entertainment for everyone … and it’s all free!
