Naomi Payan
28 June 20112011artistsmusicThis year’s festival will see several appearances by local singer Naomi Payan. The Duncan based folk-rock singer made it into the final stage of the Cowichan Folk Guild’s songwriting contest this year and will be performing a number of her latest songs at the festival.
Naomi enjoyed a musical upbringing and went on to perform both in choirs and as a backing vocalist.
In the past five years Naomi began to write and perform her own material at open mic contests in Scotland, France and Canada and hasn’t looked back.
I enjoy lots of different types of music, but some of my favourites are Fiona Apple, Jeff Buckley and Elbow.

As a full time mom to describe Naomi as busy is an understatement, especially as she is also currently recording new accoustic work with a friend.
